Format

Since 2009, Pharmacists have been expanding their practice to include vaccine administration. Furthermore, many pharmacists have the authority to review a patient’s vaccine record and prescribe indicated vaccinations. With the added responsibility, it is imperative pharmacists focus their knowledge on vaccine indication and nuances between equivalent products. Finally, immunization pharmacists have a responsibility to address patients concerns related to vaccine hesitancy. This activity will discuss the most common pharmacist administered vaccines, with an added focus on manufacture comparison. Additionally, the activity will review common reasons for vaccine hesitancy and motivational interviewing techniques to overcome it.
