Tonya Scardina, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP is the Antimicrobial Stewardship Coordinator and Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and a freelance writer and editor. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy, completed her Postgraduate Year-1 training and Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy Fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Scardina is board certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist and Infectious Diseases pharmacist. Dr. Scardina completed the Medical Writing and Editing Certificate Program at the University of Chicago Graham School. Her main research interests include Clostridium difficile infection, severe influenza, and inpatient and outpatient antimicrobial stewardship. Dr. Scardina has presented at international infectious diseases conferences and has published manuscripts on topics related to antimicrobial stewardship.
